Setting Up Outlook Express 5.0

To create a mail account using Outlook Express 5.0 you will need:
  • Your email username,
  • Your password
  • Incoming and outgoing mail server names which are "mail.dycon.com"
  • 1. Start Outlook Express 5.0
    2. Click on the Tools menu, then click Accounts.
    3. Click Add, then choose Mail in the pop up menu.

    4. Enter your name as you would like it to appear on your outgoing mail next to your mail address (you may use nicknames, initials, caps and lower case, etc.)

    5. Click Next, then enter your email address "username@dycon.com". You may substitute your domain name for dycon.com if you have one.

    6. Click Next, then make sure POP3 is selected for the incoming mail server type and enter "mail.dycon.com" as the incoming and outgoing server names.

    7. Click Next, type in your e-mail account name and password. Do not add the "@dycon.com" in the Account name block, and make sure your password in the Password block is in all lower case letters. Do NOT put a check in the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)."

    8. Congratulations! You have successfully entered all of the information required to set up your account. To save these settings, click Finish.
