Follow these steps to set up Netscape Communicator to work with an IMAP mail server.

1. From the pull-down menu bar at the top of your browser, select Edit and open Preferences.
   
   

2. Click on the tiny box beside Mail & Newsgroups, then double click on Mail Servers. Select the Edit option, as illustrated below.

   

3. Select the General tab. You will see your mail server indicated. For mail server type, click on the little arrow and choose IMAP Server, as indicated. Then click OK. The set-up is now complete.
