Netscape 4.7

(without using the setup discs and wizard)

Netscape introduced Communicator 4.7 in Spring, 1999. This release eliminates most bugs in previous versions. Other features include:

Beefed-up security.
Real Player for multi-media convenience.
NetWatch to select types of sites that can be viewed.
Simplified search feature allows terms to be typed in URL address window.
Improved Netscape Messenger lets you import mail and address book from other email programs.
Smart Updates allow you to download only what you want in future releases.

1. Start Netscape Communicator. It is not necessary to be connected online.

If the Unable to make a Connection message comes up, just click OK.

2. From the pull-down menu, Select the Edit then select Preferences.

3. Select Navigator and for Home Page Location enter http://www.dycon.com/

4. Click on the plus beside Mail and Newsgroups.

5. Select Mail Servers.

For Incoming mail server, enter mail.dycon.com

For Outgoing mail (SMTP) server, enter mail.dycon.com

For Mail Server user name, enter your user name.

6. Select Identity, then enter your name as you prefer it to be shown on your E-mail.

Next, enter your E-mail address then click OK.
